Responsibilities will include managing a 10g RAC cluster deployment, overseeing database backup/recovery procedures, writing scripts, general monitoring of system performance, and providing DBA support to developers on a day-to-day basis. This position will require travel between Los Angeles and San Francisco on an as-needed basis.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Manage a 10g RAC cluster deployment
  
• Oversee database backup/recovery procedures
  
• Writing scripts, general monitoring of system performance, and providing DBA support to developers on a day-to-day basis
  
• Travel between Los Angeles and San Francisco on an as-needed basis

• 8+ years experience in database operations
  
• 6+ years of Production Oracle DBA experience including Oracle 9i and 10g setup and administration
  
• Proficient with SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting
  
• Knowledgeable in the standardized practices of Oracle database backup and recovery
  
• Full understanding of database concepts, relational database design, and the concepts of data normalization
  
• Experience with RAC setup, administration, and tuning
  
• Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical staff
  
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  
• Bachelors of Science degree with major in Computer Science, Math or Engineering
  

Preferences:

• Experience with Oracle performance monitoring and tuning with knowledge of materialized views and partitioning
  
• Experience with Enterprise Manager setup and administration
  
• Experience in a Java/JDBC environment
  
• Experience with Oracle Streams replication or Quests Shareplex for Oracle
  
• Data modeling experience
  
• MySQL database administration experience
  
• Perl scripting experience
  
• MS SQL server experience
